À défaut de vous raconter mon week-end de Pâques en long en large et en travers (ça viendra en photos un peu plus tard), je vais essayer de vous faire partager la nuit de vendredi à samedi.

Petit contexte: nous sommes 9 (3 islandais, et une petite islandaise de 4 ans, 3 français, 1 allemand et 1 finlandaise), dans une maison au pied d'un phare sur la péninsule de Snæfellsnes (débrouillez-vous pour la prononciation) pour passer Pâques entre la mer et le glacier Snæfellsjökull.

Vendredi, 23h: Les fumeurs rentrent à l'intérieur. "Do you wanna see northern lights?". Nous: "yyyeeeeesss".
On court dehors comme des gosses avec l'appareil photo. Pas le trépied: on s'est rendus compte qu'on l'avait oublié au bout de 10km de route, l'erreur!
Dehors, on plisse des yeux pour apercevoir quelques trainées vertes dans le ciel étoilé. Ouais. Bof... Mais au moins, on en a vu et c'est plutôt joli!


23h30: il fait froid, le ciel est de plus en plus normal, les trainées vertes disparaissent. On rentre!

00h15: "Et si on ressortait voir, juste au cas où?"
Là, c'est déjà mieux, plus vert, plus étalé, on est trop contents, je fais quelques photos, l'appareil en situation précaire sur le capot du 4x4. Pour l'instant, tout se concentre au niveau du phare...

00h25: tout s'affole, le ciel est traversé d'un grand bandeau vert qui bouge et qui devient mauve et rose par endroits. C'est de plus en plus lumineux et nos "ooohhhhh" et "aaaahhhh" de plus en plus forts. J'ai du mal à attendre 30 secondes entre chaque pose! D'autant plus que j'essaie de varier les cadrages et que, toujours sans trépied, c'est quand même pas facile.

Le tout forme un arc assez impressionnant qui passe au dessus de la maison, comme une sorte d'arc-en-ciel, mais vert, et perpendiculaire à ce à quoi on s'attend. Et qui ondule. Bref, pas comme un arc-en-ciel en fait.

Au final, même d'après les islandais (blasés?): une aurore boréale exceptionnelle! On a eu trop de chance et les photos on beau être jolies, c'est à des années lumières de la réalité...
